arrestedLegal software specialists, Select Legal Systems Limited, announce today that its LAWFUSION user base has grown significantly in 2013 with 28 new law firms coming on board. More than 65% of these are specialist firms practicing specific niche areas of law, including employment law, medical negligence and licensing law for alcohol, gambling etc.

The latest to sign up for LAWFUSION is ABR Solicitors, who opted for LAWFUSION Direct, Select’s cloud option. ABR is a leading criminal law firm with 5 offices in the North of England and particular expertise in the complex area of criminal fraud.

ABR’s Senior Partner, Rob Rode said, “I think LAWFUSION is popular with niche firms like ours because its case management is incredibly flexible and intuitive. We wanted software that we could mould to reflect our ways of working rather than what we had before – rigid software we couldn’t change easily. We are an innovative and thriving firm and we were looking for a software partner that would work with us to grow our business. We are pleased to have found that in Select Legal and LAWFUSION.”

Select Legal Systems Limited has a strong history of success with specialist areas of law. Some are very niche – e.g. long established LAWFUSION users Plane Legal, specialists in aviation related matters and Bike Lawyer specialists in personal injury for motorbike accidents.

Others specialise but have a broader focus, e.g. Cartwright King, a leading criminal law firm and one of the largest providers of legal aid in the country went live with LAWFUSION in 2009. The partners of this 140-user firm are now big advocates of the system and the Select Legal team.

Steve Dixon, Co-owner and Development Director at Select Legal said, “LAWFUSION is particularly popular with criminal law firms because it significantly reduces the need for lots of paper files allowing fee earners to work smarter in a world of diminishing margins. Perhaps our success here is down to the fact that we go beyond case management with specialist features. For example we provide billing wizards with functionality specific to crime, advanced time recording features and claim management tools for crown court, police station work and magistrates court cases.”

Family is another popular area of law for LAWFUSION. Silver Fitzgerald is a 17-user Practice from Cambridge are very pleased with LAWFUSION’s flexibility and the working relationship they enjoy with Select Legal.

Steve Dixon added, “LAWFUSION ticks a lot of boxes for family firms. For example its time recording features are first-class and geared up to aid case costing. Also managing emails and critical dates in LAWFUSION is very slick and easy.

“We are delighted with our continued success in 2013. We have grown the team, moved into larger premises and continue to welcome significant numbers of innovative law firms to our user base. We have lots planned for 2014 in terms of our development roadmap including new case management interfaces and we are enhancing our marketing module with some new and powerful features.”
