BEWARE AUTO DATE FUNCTIONALITY IN MICROSOFT WORD WHEN PREPARING FOR COURT
Did you know that the auto date feature in Microsoft Word will re-date a document with ‘today’s’ date each time a user opens it? This can affect template letters, correspondence and documents used by law firms that later become evidence in court. Imagine how serious this could be if you had sworn the dates in your court bundle were correct without realising they had been overwritten automatically in Word.
LAWFUSION has an alternative date output feature which ensure this problem will not occur with templates and correspondence etc. and subsequently when those documents are included in court bundles. For law firms not using LAWFUSION it is possible to switch the auto date feature off in Word via the ‘lock result’ switch.
