A single processor, network card, 2 gb RAM (using 2 slots), floppy drive, DVD/CDRW drive, fast SCSI/SATA Disks preferred Backup device - DAT72 tape drive or Iomega 35GB Rev Drive or LTO tape drive.
We would recommend RAID 5 with a 3 DISK configuration. A processor is required for every 25 users, 2 to 4Gb RAM. A UPS, Anti-virus software, Veritas back-up and Drive Image software are advised.
If we are supplying the server then our standard installation service does not include the installation and configuration of Microsoft Exchange.
These should have 512mb RAM, Network card, a Pentium III or above processor, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, Windows XP Professional Edition with Service Pack 2, Office 2000 or above, Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software. It is essential that all PCs run the same version of Office.
The monitor needs to support 600 x 800 resolution.
Any MS Windows compatible A4 laser printer or ink-jet printer.
For continuous cheque and remittance production can be done using Epson LX-300 or LQ-300 dot matrix printers. Laser cheques are also supported.
This is the database software that is needed for LAWFUSION™. If you are purchasing Windows 2003 Small Business Edition Premium to run on the server then you already have SQL Server included with it. We prefer to install this as part of the installation and would ask that Backup Exec is not installed until after SQL Server is installed.
If you already have Windows 2003 Small Business Edition then it may be best to purchase an upgrade to premium edition. This is only available however if you originally bought a ‘boxed’ version and not an OEM version.
If you have Windows 2000 or 2003 server then SQL Server will need to be purchased. You need to purchase a base licence and the CALs. CALs are supplied in packs of 5.
If you have less than 5 users then it may be possible to use the free MSDE version or SQL Express.
An ADSL line is required with a static IP address. A router that supports VPN connections or VPN pass-through is recommended but not essential.
