Select Legal Integrate with SDLT

LAWFUSION, the legal software system developed by Select Legal, is now able to produce the all important SDLT 5 form electronically and instantly from its conveyancing case management application thanks to integration with the SDLT.co.uk online forms submission system.

According to research conducted by SDLT there is a clear indication that between 20 to 30% of the current eight page SDLT forms are regularly being rejected by the Inland Revenue, now HMRC, due to poor scanning quality, hand editing and general administrative problems that come when you process over 2 million forms per annum. HMRC desperately want conveyancers to process online since the scanning and associated issues do not exist in a true electronic communication. The extra administrative burden to deal with these rejections and the negative PR from letters sent by the Inland Revenue to the firms clients informing them of 'errors' is why law firms should be using LAWFUSION and its integration with the SDLT.co.uk online forms submission system.

Steve Dixon, the Development Director for Select Legal, comments “It makes good business sense for any firm handling a reasonable volume of conveyancing work to eliminate the time and possible errors that can occur when filling in these forms by hand.” Steve adds, “We have been told by our clients that, if they are to complete 10 forms by hand in a week, then this new system will save their conveyancing department at least two hours per week, this equates to in excess of £3000 worth of billable time each year.”
