Practice Diary and Task Planner
As standard, LAWFUSION™ includes a full Practice Diary and Task Planner for individuals, cases, resources and courts. Simply, add an appointment or task just once, e.g. a specific hearing date, prisons, tribunals, and the system will reflect it against the appropriate individual and case file.
It has been specifically designed to manage multiple fee earner diaries and volume information across different work areas in law firms, including Personal Injury Case Management, Conveyancing Case Management and Crime Case Management. Powerful, highly flexible, the LAWFUSION™ Diary and Task Planner is a powerful user tool that can help you to run your caseloads more efficiently.
Benefits for You
- Helps you take the work and the guess work out of managing your work.
- Saves you time and reduces stress by allowing you to be more focused and better organised.
- Saves your fee earner valuable time because cases are diary driven and diary entries can be generated automatically by the workflow system.
- Handle greater volumes of work, safe in the knowledge that important tasks and actions are scheduled automatically and can be delegated to support staff.
- Quickly and easily review your entire work caseload and ensure a single action is never missed.
- You can also use it for non-case tasks such as booking meetings.
Fully Featured
- Your case files are linked to your diary. This allows work done on cases to automatically generate reminders in your diary.
- Where no reply is received, reminders to produce follow up letters are activated and letters produced automatically.
- Fully featured task creation and scheduling system with links back to the case. The task planner is linked directly with your workload and important dates and actions flagged automatically. Each task entry is cross-referenced on both.
- Every case file and every user of the system has their own diary and task planner.
- Entries can be made in multiple fee-earner diaries.
- A centralised diary system, allowing all users to view each other's schedules (provided thay have relevant permissions).
- Appointments marked as private can be made visible only by the user who created them.
- Flexible viewing options. Each user can view all appointments and activities they are responsible for and sort or group the information for the cases they are working on.
- As limitation dates are automatically scheduled with a date countdown, you are always aware of the timescale for issuing proceedings on each client’s behalf.
- Limitation dates can be viewed in priority order. There are separate views for limitation dates due, i.e. dates within 1 week, dates between 1 week and 1 month, dates between 1 and 3 months, dates between 3 and 6 months.
- You can set recurring tasks and alarms.
- Full reporting functionality for effective management control of diary systems.
Flexible and Mobile
The Diary and Planner are also synchronised with Microsoft OUTLOOK® so you can have a single view of all your commitments. They can also be exported to your Laptop, Ultra Mobile Phone (Windows Mobile) or PDA, which gives the constant availability of information wherever you are.
Diary Overview
The Diary Overview is a brand new feature in LAWFUSION™ which allows users to view appointments made in their own and other users’ diaries (privilege dependent). It is completely configurable by each firm and appointments will appear in the user’s diary and the relevant Court/Police Station/Prison/Hospital/Tribunal diary.

The Diary Overview is entirely flexible and can contain any (or a combination of) the following sections:
- Users, i.e. a list of all, or just specific users’ diaries within the firm. This is useful for keeping up to date on fee earners’ whereabouts.
- Resources, e.g. projector, telephone, Board room, Training room, Meeting room etc.
- Locations, e.g. venues outside of the office, suitable for any type of work.
- Hospitals, e.g. visits to patients for personal injury or mental health work.
- Tribunals, e.g. employment tribunals.
- Police Stations, e.g. acting as own solicitor or police station attendance.
- Police Station Schemes, i.e. police station duties - which scheme is covered and who is covering it.
- Courts, e.g. court duty or court attendances.
- Prisons e.g. prison visits.
