LAWFUSION Standard Edition or LAWFUSION Small Firm Edition
The following setup is correct provided that all of your kit is in-house, e.g. you may have servers that are hosted offsite, in which case, you will need two servers - a Database and a Terminal Server.
Server - Recommended minimum specification
A single processor, network card, 2 gb RAM, DVD/CDRW drive, fast SCSI/SATA Disks, Backup device - DAT72 tape drive or Iomega 35GB Rev Drive or LTO tape drive.
We would recommend RAID 5 with a 3 DISK configuration. A processor is required for every 25 users, 2 to 4Gb RAM. A UPS, Anti-virus software, Veritas back-up and Drive Image software are advised.
If we are supplying the server then our standard installation service does not include the installation and configuration of Microsoft Exchange.
PCs - Recommended minimum specification:
These should have 1gb RAM, Network card, a Pentium III or above processor, Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, Office 2000, Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010, Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software. It is essential that all PCs run the same version of Office. Both 32bit and 64bit versions are supported
The monitor needs to support 1024 x768 resolution.
Printers
Any MS Windows compatible A4 laser printer or ink-jet printer.
Continuous cheque and remittance production can be done using Epson LX-300 or LQ-300 dot matrix printers, for example. Laser cheques are also supported.
SQL Server Database Software
This is the database software that is needed for LAWFUSION. If you have Windows 2003 or 2008 Small Business Premium Edition on your server, then you already have SQL Server included with it.
If you have Windows 2003 or 2008 server then you will need to purchase SQL Server. You need to purchase a base licence and the CALs. CALs are supplied in packs of 5.
If you have less than 15 users then it is possible to use the free SQL Server 2008 Express Edition.
Support Requirements
An ADSL line is required with a static IP address. A router that supports VPN connections or VPN pass-through is recommended but not essential.

LAWFUSION Direct
Internet Connection
A good internet connection is required. If possible it is better to have a connection with no contention. The performance of the service greatly depends on the speed and reliability of your connection to the internet. If possible order a connection with a higher upload speed as well as a high download speed. If you intend scanning documents and uploading them into the system your upload speed will be what dictates how long it takes.
Ideally you should use a router that allows VPN connections to be made to it.

Apple Macs running Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client are also supported.
Printers
In order for printing to work we will need to know the exact model and driver that is going to be used on your PCs. Most printers are supported but please confirm with our Technical department on 01482 644334 that your printers are compatible with our service.
